Soup-uary 2026! This delicious winter gathering brings together local cooks, community members, and soup lovers for a friendly (and filling!) People’s Choice soup-tasting competition.

People’s Choice Contest:
Each attendee gets to vote for their Top 3 favorite soups — and the winning cooks will receive gift cards and serious bragging rights!

Want to Enter Your Soup?
We welcome amateur and professional cooks, age 12 and up, from Papillion and surrounding areas. Whether you're representing a local business or cooking up Grandma’s secret recipe, we’d love to have you join!
Basic Contest Details:

Soups must be fully cooked and ready-to-serve upon arrival

Bring 12+ quarts of soup and your own crockpot(s) or warmers

Ingredient list required for allergy awareness

Setup: 10:00–10:45 AM | Tasting: Begins at 11:00 AM

Voting ends at 12:45 PM | Awards at 1:00 PM
All entries must follow food safety guidelines. Gloves will be provided, and contestants may display business cards, signage, and promotional materials at their table.
Tickets sold at the door.

In case of severe weather, the event may be postponed or canceled.

Rules and General Information:

All entries must be made from “home style” ingredients.

All entries must be pre-cooked prior to the event. Food should be brought “ready-to-eat”.

Contestant should arrive between 10 AM and 10:45 AM. on the day of the event and be ready for tasting by 11:00 AM.

All contestants must have at least one person on hand throughout the event to serve and supervise their area until voting ends. Each contestant is responsible for cleaning up and for removing all items from their area. Cleaning may begin at 3:00pm and must be finished no later than 4:00pm

We recommend that each contestant bring at least 12 quarts of soup for the event with a presentable list of ingredients to avoid any food related health issues and/or allergies.

Contestants are responsible for supplying all of their own products related to their entry. Please bring in a crockpot(s)/or equivalent for serving and you may serve soups with garnishes and/or sides.

Sanitary gloves must be worn at all times while handling food.

The event committee will supply tasting cups, spoons, sanitary gloves, ladles, & napkins.

Contestant are permitted to display signage, promotional materials and/or business cards at serving stations.

Each paid attendee will receive a ballot to vote for the top 3 People’s Choice award.

All votes must be submitted by 12:45 PM and the awards will be presented at 1PM.

Contestant are encouraged to promote the event and invite family, friends & co-workers.
