Preserving Papillion’s Past:
The Story of the Historical Society
The Papillion Area Historical Society got its start back in 1979 with a rescue mission. When the historic Sautter farmhouse was about to be torn down to make way for the new Hickory Hills neighborhood, a group of passionate locals stepped in to save it. They moved the house to its current home in downtown Papillion and began restoring it to its former glory.
Then in 1995, the society added another gem to the mix—a classic one-room schoolhouse. They carefully relocated it right next to the farmhouse, creating a cozy corner of town where Papillion’s past lives on.
You can find both buildings tucked in with the Papillion City Library on Washington Street between 2nd and 3rd Streets.
